In accordance with article 18 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Government of Chile presents its seventh periodic report to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. This document contains an analysis of the articles of the Convention, including the main themes related to the situation of women in Chile, and takes stock of the protection of women’s human rights. It also contains replies to the concluding observations adopted by the Committee at its fifty-third session, in October 2012, after consideration of the country’s fifth and sixth periodic reports

This document covers the period 2012-2016 and has been drawn up by the Ministry for Women and Gender Equity, assisted by the Human Rights Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the basis of information provided by institutions of the various branches of government, with particular emphasis on the diversity of the country’s women.
